We have put together a list of what we think are the most enjoyable cars for the summer. Unlimited headroom, exhilarating acceleration, and ultimate practicality for summer activities are just some of the traits you’ll find in our top ten summer cars. If you’re interested in getting the best price for these vehicles, please visit us at Unhaggle.com for a hassle-free shopping experience!

1. Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

What’s better than cruising down the highway without a roof? How about without doors? The Jeep Wrangler unlimited is a stretched wheelbase version of the legendary Jeep Wrangler, allowing two more friends to enjoy the fun in comfort with enough space to pack for the weekend trip. If you feel a little adventurous, it is more than equipped to handle any terrain you can throw under it.

2. Ford Mustang Convertible GT

There’s a reason why two very important letters follow the name of this car. The GT version gives you a throaty V8 that makes highway cruising in the summer that much more exhilarating. Where else can you get a powerful V8 and convertible top for less than $45k?

3. Mini Cooper

With the wheels stretched to the four corners of the car, driving a mini is like driving a go kart. And what’s more summer than go karts? Even if you’re stuck in the city this summer, this quick and agile hatchback can get you around tight streets and small parking spaces. Hell, get the roof painted with a Union Jack and it might even make you think you’re on a European vacation!

4. BMW 1M Coupe

If you were lucky enough to get your hands on one of these last year, you’ve been waiting for the weather to warm up. Probably the most capable track car on this list, the ride isn’t overly harsh either on the streets. Oh yeah, you can also do 0-100 km/h in less than 5 seconds. That means you would smoke anyone off the lights that thought they were fast.

5. Nissan 370Z Convertible

Not a fan of domestics? The 370Z offers the same good looks, a great exhaust sound, and a convertible top so you won’t miss one note. The 370Z combines Nissan reliability, with the reckless fun of a performance convertible. There may not be a V8 option, but the moment you put the exhaust to work, the sound will make those missing cylinders seem obsolete. At 8.0 Hwy L/100 km, this roadster also guarantees you can drive further for cheaper than its American counterparts.

6. Toyota Prius V

What makes a summer more memorable than a road trip? How about not stopping for gas once on your trip there and back? The Prius V has a reported 1500 km range before a fuel up is necessary while offering up SUV-like space for the entire family. With gas prices well over a dollar a litre, the Prius V can make a road trip affordable again.

7. Audi S5 Convertible

Undeniably the prettiest of on this list, we had to include at least one luxury alternative. The reasons are simple: great engine, no roof, and it’s the best looking car to be seen in. The other luxury alternatives all look like they try a bit too hard. Die hard car nuts may balk at the new Turbo V6 replacing the powerful V8. However, the first reviews are in and most would agree that the only thing you’ll miss is how much you would have spent on gas.

8. Mazda MX-5

When the MX-5’s predecessor, the Miata, was introduced, it made a fast, well-handling, convertible sports car affordable. Decades later, Mazda has stuck with the same formula and the MX-5 does not miss a beat. Owners will also tell you that it handles itself quite well on a track. Fuel efficient commuter and weekend track car all in one? Why not?

9. Volkswagen EOS

We all know the summer weather we dream about doesn’t happen every day. When the weather does hit a snag, the EOS offers a retractable hardtop roof to protect you from the elements often only found on much more expensive cars.

10. Hyundai Veloster

Hyundai is selling Velosters faster than they can make them. With a clever third door, it gives owners ample access to the back seat for anything you need to bring with you. The panoramic sunroof lets in so much light; this is as close as you can get to a convertible without actually having one. This peppy little car has a fit and finish second to none, and the looks of a car that would cost thousands more.
