After numerous rumours and speculations, Dodge has finally revealed the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat in all its glory, showcasing its beastly 707-horsepower engine and four-door configuration – just a few weeks after releasing plans for the 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat.
The unveiling took place on Wednesday at an event near Detroit. The Charger will get the same engine as the Challenger, which is a supercharged 6.2-litre Hemi V8. This engine will be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, with combination producing 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. The vehicle will sprint from 0-60 mph in just 3.7 seconds
This engine almost makes more sense in the Charger since it’s a bigger car overall, and Dodge has never been shy about putting monster engines in it before. Part of the success of the Charger is due to its ability to play many different roles. Not only is this a powerful performance sedan that will please car enthusiasts, but a family vehicle as well.
The Charger SRT Hellcat gets many design tweaks that will set it apart from other cars in the family and segment. It will have an aggressive face and rear fascias and bulging aluminum hood with a scoop and heat extractors. This Charger will roll on 20-inch wheels and come with a custom rear spoiler for optimum road presence.
The Charger will also come with two key fobs – a black one that limits power and a red one that releases all 707 horses.
Fuel ratings and pricing are yet to be released.
