Automakers Ford and General Motors are gearing up for the arrival of the 2015 vehicles by offering big incentives on several 2014 models to blast sales and clear inventory.
Ford has just introduced their annual Employee Pricing event incentive as an attempt to drive sales during the slower summer months. The event began on July 1st, 2014 and is expected to run right through the summer expiring September 30th, 2014.
This offer basically lets customers pay the invoice price – or what the dealers have paid the manufacturer for the vehicle. Ford 2014 models included in the event this year are the Fiesta, Focus, Fusion, Escape and F-150. Buyers can see anywhere from $1,800 up to $7,800 in discounts on these vehicles.
Events like this also tend to benefit the dealer-consumer relationship. With this bare-bones pricing, consumers get to feel as though the company is being transparent with them, which they respect. After all, today’s consumers are much savvier thanks to detailed pricing information available on the internet.
GM, an automaker that has struggled in recent months, is also offering employee pricing discounts.
GMC is offering discounts on the Yukon, Acadia, Sierra HD, Savana, Terrain and Sierra, while Buick is driving sales on the LaCrosse, Regal, Verano, Encore and Enclave. Chevrolet will offer the discounts on any vehicle you may be interested in, be it a car, truck, SUV, crossover or van.
These deals will have customers saving thousands and discounts only increase with cash deals. GM’s Employee Pricing is well underway, having started on June 3rd and will continue through the end of the month until July 31st.
