The Dodge Challenger has been a long-time favourite for muscle car fanatics, and the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is sure to be a game changer.
The SRT Hellcat goes back to the original Challenger roots, inspired by the classic 1971 model. This beast gets 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, making it the fastest muscle car to cover the quarter mile. It leaves top competitors, like the Ford Mustang GT500 and Chevy Camaro Z/28, in its dust.
With an MSRP sticker at just over $60K you can get all that power and speed for a reasonable price, but you better move quickly. The SRT is expected to roll into dealerships this fall and rumour has it that there may only be 1,200 in production.
That number is around a quarter of the Challengers that Dodge sells each month. A limited production such as this may have buyers facing an inflated MSRP and might also cause issues dealership to dealership, raising the question as to who is entitled to sell the vehicle. According to Edmunds, Chrysler is currently in discussion as to which dealerships will get it.
Of course, at this point, the limited production is speculation, and Chrysler officials are yet to confirm anything regarding the limitation. SRT Spokesman, Dan Reid has communicated that there is no concrete plan to limit the production and they do not yet know what market demand will be.
