Chrysler dealerships all over Canada are having a massive sale this month on the 2014 models of Dodge Grand Caravan, Dodge Journey and Chrysler Town & Country, offering ridiculously high incentives and rebates.
The biggest incentive on the radar is $8,100 (before tax), which you can get if you decide to purchase the Canada Value Package (CVP) version of the Grand Caravan. This base model of the minivan includes a 3.6-litre V6 engine, a six-speed automatic transmission, power steering, dual-zone air conditioning, a four-speaker audio system with a CD player and an auxiliary audio jack. However, it does not come with Dodge’s signature stow-and-go seats or any other upscale features that you may find in the higher trims, like the SXT, R/T or Crew.
Those trims come with a $7,000 (before tax) incentive and a $1,500 cash rebate (after tax). For a limited time only, if you opt in for a DVD player, you’ll receive an extra $1,000 cash rebate (after tax). This essentially means a free DVD upgrade for the SXT and R/T trims. The same type of incentive is offered for the Dodge Journey. There’s a $2,000 (before tax) incentive for all Journey trims and $1,500 (after tax) rebate for all trims except the CVP and SE plus trims. Similar to the Dodge Caravan, if you opt in for the DVD upgrade, you’ll receive an additional $1,000 (after tax) rebate. The same type of rebate is also available for the Chrysler Town and Country.
Andrew Schuld, the owner of The Truck Depot dealership in Edmonton, says that they’re selling the Grand Caravan below invoice price, which leaves him and other dealers with very little profit. He also noted that this doesn’t happen often.
“Anyone looking to purchase a minivan right now should take advantage of this situation,” he said.
Though there is no exact date as to when this sale will end, Schuld believes it may be over by the launch of the 2015 Caravan, which is likely to be in September. But given the recent announcement that Chrysler is planning to drop the Caravan by 2016, it’s not unreasonable to assume that incentives of this magnitude may stick around beyond the month of September, carrying over into the 2015 model year.
Schuld insists that prospective car buyers should jump on this offer as soon as possible – because deals this good don’t last forever. For more information on car prices, click here to get a free cost report.
